Overview

GS-mach lab twin screw extruders use building block screws with conveying, kneading and reversing elements on involute splines, and segmented barrels with independent heating and cooling per zone, so the screw and barrel layout can be rebuilt for each formulation. A high torque gearbox, PLC control with a touch screen, and interlocks between the main drive, the gearbox oil pump and the melt pressure protect the drivetrain. Feeding, venting, melt pump and downstream modules turn the same extruder into a pelletizing, 3D printer filament or cast film line.

Applications

  • Polymer compounding and formulation R&D
  • Biopolymer and engineering plastic development
  • 3D printer filament research
