Forced Labour and Child Labour Prevention Policy

Effective: 18 September 2026 · version 1.0 · reviewed annually

Petrano Supply Inc. is a Canadian technical supplier that sources, imports and distributes scientific instruments and industrial equipment. Petrano does not tolerate forced labour, child labour, prison labour or human trafficking in any form, in its own operations or anywhere in its supply chain.

1. Purpose and commitment

This policy sets out the measures Petrano applies to prevent and mitigate the risk that goods it supplies are produced, in whole or in part, by forced labour or child labour, consistent with the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (Canada).

2. Scope

This policy applies to all Petrano personnel and to every supplier, manufacturer, freight forwarder and service provider engaged by Petrano in the fulfilment of customer orders and public contracts.

3. Our own operations

All employment at Petrano is voluntary, paid and documented, and complies with applicable federal and provincial employment, immigration and human rights law. Petrano does not use prison labour and does not employ anyone under coercion, debt bondage or retention of identity documents. Workforce disclosures requested by customers are provided accurately on the forms they prescribe.

4. Supplier due diligence

Before committing to a supplier, Petrano identifies the manufacturer and the main manufacturing or final assembly site of the goods, and gives preference to manufacturers established in jurisdictions with enforced labour standards and to plants holding recognized management system certifications.

For goods supplied into public contracts, Petrano requests a written declaration from the manufacturer describing its measures against forced labour and child labour, or a statement that no such programme exists, and passes this disclosure to the customer where required.

Petrano does not knowingly source goods, components or materials mined, manufactured or produced by forced labour or child labour, and does not source goods whose importation is prohibited under tariff item 9897.00.00 of the Customs Tariff.

5. Remediation and escalation

If Petrano becomes aware of a credible allegation that goods in its supply chain involve forced labour or child labour, it will suspend the affected procurement, seek clarification from the supplier, inform any affected customer, and terminate the supplier relationship where the allegation is substantiated and not remedied.

6. Governance and review

The Operational Director owns this policy, reviews it at least annually, and is the contact point for any question or report concerning labour practices in the supply chain, at info@petrano.ca or (204) 202-3242.
