Overview

The SUGA SPS2000 applies pulsed DC current directly to the powder and die under servo controlled pressure, densifying small samples in a short cycle. A patented DEGAS mode preheats the powder under vacuum or exposes it to vacuum before sintering to remove adsorbed gases, moisture and contaminants, and a rapid cooling mode blows gas onto the die after sintering. Press force and DC output can be upgraded after installation, with the DC pulse generator rising in 500 A steps up to 3000 A.

Applications

  • Advanced and transparent ceramics
  • Cemented carbides and cutting tools
  • Sputtering targets and functional materials
  • University and institute materials R&D
